While wireless earbuds and headphones have been around the block a few times by now, true wireless stereo or TWS earbuds have only recently seen the spotlight. We hope this Soundpeats true wireless earbuds review can answer some questions about these best sellers and serve as a suitable buying guide.
There are a few brands that have picked up on this niche, with Apple being at the forefront. However, as we go through our Soundpeats wireless earbuds review, you’ll see that not only are the Soundpeats a good alternative, but there’s a lot more to wireless earbuds than meets the eye.
If the Soundpeats don’t meet your needs, we’ll also be reviewing a few of their competitors, so you’ll see exactly where the Soundpeats rank and learn about some alternative options.
What Are SoundPEATS Wireless Earbuds?
True wireless earbuds are just what they sound like: completely wireless—true wireless headphones. They’ve become more popular for obvious reasons, but it’s been hard for brands to optimize sound and performance within those new smaller spaces.
Free-range earphones have also faced obstacles in the fit and comfort department. As we go through the Soundpeats wireless earbuds review, we’ll go over how Soundpeats addresses each of those issues, typical pricing, and then user feedback during the comparison section.
Price Range of the Earbuds on This List
True wireless Bluetooth earbuds can cost a pretty penny; many are over $100, and a few models cost over $300. Soundpeats offers their wireless earbuds as an affordable, budget-friendly option for those of us who can’t make peace with spending that kind of money on earbuds. Soudpeats wireless earbuds can be found for around $60, which is good news for budget-conscious consumers.
SoundPEATS True Wireless Earbuds Review: How They Compare
Now that we’ve gone over the basic features of the Soundpeats, let’s look at user feedback and some popular alternatives. To keep this comparison straightforward and non-biased, we chose the following rating criteria, scored on a 5-star scale: price, performance, comfort, battery, warranty, and pros and cons.
We found these to highlight important unique features and user issues and concerns and may serve as a good alternative if the pair you’re looking for isn’t in stock.
But First: More on the SoundPEATS Wireless Earbuds
These wireless earbuds are small and oval-shaped with extended ear tips that fit inside your ear canal. They come in three sizes, so most people can find a comfortable fit, including those with small ear canals. They fit snuggly in your ears and aren’t visible if you have long hair. However, these earbuds are not designed for activewear, so if you’re running or moving around a lot, you may spend a lot of time adjusting them.
The Soundpeats come in a small, convenient travel case that doubles as a portable charger. The portable charger can be charged with the included micro USB cable when it’s low on power. These hi-fi headphones use Bluetooth version 5.0, offer binaural calling, as well as one-step pairing.
Performance [3 out of 5 Stars]
While these definitely can’t outperform your $300 pair of wireless buds, they do a good job for their price. Lows, mids, and highs are all fairly natural, though the bass is a little punchy per popular demand. If you’re an audiophile, you’ll also notice some quality loss towards the highs.
These earbuds lose some quality as you go up in volume, which is a shame, but unless you need to listen at high volume, it may not be a problem you’re affected by. There are also controls on the earbuds for track changes, volume, and play/pause.
There have been issues connecting the earbuds to each other and your device. They are designed to connect with only one device, and to try to connect them to more than one can throw them out of sync; however, sometimes they will fall out of sync for seemingly no reason at all.
Comfort [5 out of 5 Stars]
Comfort is an area most wireless earbuds struggle in, so we felt it necessary to address. The manufacturer paid close attention to product detail. These earbuds have a very nice build quality, are lightweight, which contributes to overall comfort and also the fit.
Further complimenting the comfort and fit are the soft, silicone tips and variable sizes; you barely notice anything is in your ears with these earbuds. As we mentioned before, these aren’t for activewear, so if you’re using them for running or gym-going, you’ll have a hard time keeping them in place.
This will be especially true when you sweat. Soundpeats also offers a less stylish, but more secure, workout model of headphones called Truewings that feature ear hooks that wrap around the listener’s ears.
Battery [4 out of 5 Stars]
Battery life for Bluetooth earbuds is still an ongoing battle, and these are no exception. A full charge on Soundpeats wireless earbuds will grant you about 3 hours of playable time before they need to go back in the charging case; the true capsule charging case itself lasts about 12 hours, good for 5-6 charges.
While this definitely isn’t true for all Bluetooth wireless headphones, the battery life on regular Soundpeats is slightly lower than average. However, the company also offers an upgraded version Soundpeat Truefree Plus, which is
Warranty [5 out of 5 Stars]
There is a standard, one-year limited warranty applied to these earbuds, and a 6-month extension available for members of the Soundpeats club. This warranty covers manufacturer errors and malfunctions.
Pros
- Intuitive controls
- Affordable
- Comfortable
Cons
- Shorter battery life
- Sound quality may suffer at higher volumes

Apple AirPods (2nd Gen)
Apple AirPods were pioneers in the true-wireless-earbuds territory, so we had to include them in our Soundpeats wireless earbuds review.
Using Bluetooth 5.0 technology, this model also features the iconic stem that many Apple earbuds have, which are useful in keeping the buds in place during wear and integral to the charging.
These earbuds also offer touch control to take phone calls and work with Apple’s voice assistant Siri, so hands-free use is also simple and easy.
Performance [4 out of 5 Stars]
While the sound quality is good, the build of the earbuds stands in the way of a good rating here. Because the in-ear headphones don’t have interchangeable ear tips to fit in your ear canal, there’s no seal. This means they have no noise cancellation, and you can always hear your surroundings.
They fall out easier than many models that feature a seal. The only option for controls is a double tap on each bud, which you can assign to only one of the following: pulling up Siri, track changes, or play/pause. This design has room for improvement.
A redeeming feature of the AirPods is that they detect when you’ve removed the earbuds and automatically pause the music; the music resumes when you put the AirPods back in.
This is a useful feature in many scenarios, especially in the workplace. The volume control of the stereo sound is done with just a touch of either the left or right earbud.
Comfort [3 out of 5 Stars]
While this design isn’t inherently uncomfortable, it is the only option. The lack of tip sizes or just general size options leaves a lot of users out in the cold. Those with larger ears will probably appreciate the design, but everyone else will have a hard time getting AirPods to fit properly.
Battery [5 out of 5 Stars]
They come with a portable case that doubles as a charging station. The charging station can be charged wirelessly or wired, depending on the model you get.
The earbuds offer about 3 to 5 hours playtime on their own, and the case will add another 24. More impressive still, a mere 15 minutes of charging can get you about 2 hours playtime time.
Warranty [4 out of 5 Stars]
While Apple provides a warranty, it is limited and well-known for bringing users grief when trying to use it. This warranty will cover manufacturer error and malfunctions.
Pros
- Faster charging
- Good sound
- Voice-activated Siri
Cons
- Only works with Apple mac os or ios devices such as iPhone
- Pricier than other options on this list
- No size options
- No sound seal

Jabra Elite 65t Alexa Enabled True Wireless Earbuds
The Jabra Elite wireless earphones a better suited for wearing when active than Soundpeats earphones. They twist into the ear for a more secure fit and are dust resistant, sweatproof, and water-resistant; you can actually rinse them off regularly.
They have auto-pairing features, and smart touch allows automatic play/pause as the Bluetooth earphones are taken out or put in. The free accompanying app lets you adjust your EQ, so the sound is completely in your domain.
Performance [4 out of 5 Stars]
Sound was great all-around, and the added ability to adjust the bass, lows, and highs (and whatever else) as you want definitely adds another level in sound experience. The auto-connect feature and the automatic play/pause are similar to Apple’s.
Connecting them is easy, but they sometimes connect out of sync, or only one earbud will connect. When this happens, you must re-dock them and then auto-connect again.
They offer controls for playback, volume, track changes, and calls, however, users have reported that the buttons are hard to push without also pushing the earbuds themselves further into your ears.
Comfort [5 out of 5 Stars]
There are three different sized silicone tips available for a snug in-ear fit that is honestly better than we had hoped. They will work well for general movement and going to the gym, excluding swimming or high-impact sports, and the features that contribute to the durability, such as water and dust resistance, don’t result in additional weight.
Battery [5 out of 5 Stars]
The battery life is around 5 hours, which puts these earbuds on the high end of the battery-life spectrum. However, if you’re constantly listening at high volumes, that time will go down. The portable charging and carrying case will give the earbuds another 2 full charges.
The case is charged with a micro USB cable. As with the Apple earbuds, you have the option for a lightning charge, which equals just over an hour of playtime per 15 minutes of charging.
Warranty [4 out of 5 Stars]
There is a one-year limited warranty that covers manufacturer errors and malfunctions. Some users have needed to cash in on this warranty due to issues with the earbuds not properly connecting after a few months of use.
Pros
- Good sound
- Dynamic app for customization and more
- Water-resistant
- Full controls
- Stay in well
- Compatible with Android and iPhone
Cons
- Buttons can be hard to push
- Pricier than the other options on this list

Galaxy Buds True Wireless Earbuds w/Wireless Charging Case
Similarly to Apple’s Earpods, the Galaxy Buds are True Wireless. They were made as a freebie that came with the Galaxy S10. Though they are compatible with other Android and Apple devices.
Performance [3 out of 5 Stars]
On board, is a dual microphone to deliver your voice clearly when on calls or using voice commands. They’re waterproof enough to be worn during workouts, and they’re great for working out. It has been noted that Galaxy Buds still have a ways to go with connection stability.
While lacking any exagerated low end, these earbuds have exceptional and balanced sound quality.
Comfort [4 out of 5 Stars]
The silicon ear and wing tips allow for a comfortable fit for all-day listening. However, like any earbuds they might not be the perfect fit for every ear.
Battery [4.5 out of 5 Stars]
With about 6.5 hours of playback after a single charge, and the charging case that allows for another 7 hours of playback time, the battery life on these earbuds is impressive. 15 minutes of charging yields about 1.7 hours of playback.
Warranty [4 out of 5 Stars]
There is a one-year limited warranty that covers parts and labor.
Pros
- Great battery life
- Wireless charging
- Ambient sound control
- Touch controls
- They work with other Android Phones and Apple Devices
Cons
- Only IPX2-level water resistance
